A Night for Life: A Fundraiser to Help Stop Soldier Suicide
One active duty Soldier a day takes his or her own life. 22 Veterans die by their own hand each day. It’s now being called an epidemic and the numbers continue rising instead of falling. Stop Soldier Suicide, a group of active-duty and former Army officers, was founded to help our brothers and sisters in arms in their greatest hour of need. When they face the wounds no one can see—wounds that create such pain these brave men and women can find no other way out other than death. It’s a tragedy. And right now they simply are not getting the help or support they need.
Our Brave Men and Women Have Put Their Lives on The Line For All of Us, Now They Need Our Help.
Our number-one priority at Stop Soldier Suicide is to launch an all-voluntary, all-Soldier/Veteran staffed Contact Center. At this center, we’ll be able to talk from a unique and familiar perspective to those in need and put them in touch with the resources that will best serve them.
More Than Just A Phone Call. We Help Any Way We Can.
If there are circumstances that need monetary help to relieve some of the pressure a Soldier or Veteran is facing, we offer that to the extent we are able. Providing plane tickets, money for bills, whatever is the “straw breaking the camel’s back.”
Our goal with A NIGHT FOR LIFE is to be part of an event that will be memorable, inspiring, and effective, and one that reminds every attendee of the cause that we all serve – our Soldiers, Veterans and their families.
TICKET COST/DONATION IS $150 per person and ALL proceeds go to the cause, including a partner organization, Carolina Patriot Rovers, that provides free psychiatric service dogs for Veterans who suffer from PTSD or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). You’ll be admitted to the event, enjoy a 4-hour open bar, a silent auction, DJ-spun music and guest speakers.
We count on generous donors and sponsors like Knight Capital, Liquidnet, Brean and others who graciously give so Soldiers and Veterans can live.

Soldiers Ride for Life
The Soldiers Ride for Life cross-country motorcycle tour (http://www.stopsoldiersuicide.org/?page_id=491 ) is Stop Soldier Suicide’s most important awareness campaign and fundraiser of 2012. Starting on Friday, September 28th Brian Kinsella (SSS CEO and Co-Founder) will embark on a two week cross-country motorcycle tour to raise awareness and create new partnerships in an effort to stop soldier and veteran suicide by helping our brave service members receive free mental health care.
The trek will start at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State on Friday, September 28th. During the two week journey Brian will speak with soldiers, veterans, and senior military leaders at 11 military installations in an effort to build even more partnerships with SSS and spread the word about military suicide prevention and civilian sources of help.
Over the last year SSS has made significant progress building new partnerships with the US Military, Department of Veterans Affairs, and other non-profit organizations supporting soldiers and veterans. Some of the highlights include new chapters in North Carolina and Oklahoma, a formal partnership with several units at Fort Sill, OK, and a partnership with several Major League Baseball teams. The partnerships we have forged have helped SSS save lives and connect people to the help they need. We aim to be the number one civilian capture organization for soldiers and veterans seeking mental healthcare in this country and with your help we can make this happen!
So how can you help?
1. Do your best to thank a veteran or soldier for their service- let the brave men and women who fought for this country know you care
2. Spread the word about Soldiers Ride for Life and the mission of Stop Soldier Suicide
3. Support our social media campaign- Like us on FaceBook and Follow us on Twitter
4. Join a leg of the journey. Whether you ride a motorcycle, drive a car or want to meet up along the way, we appreciate all of your support
5. Donate to the cause
The SSS team can not thank you enough for all of the support and contributions you have made over the last two years. It is because of people like you, our soldiers and veterans are better suited to fight their mission on the battlefield and the challenges they face when they return home.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
The SSS Team
