Strategic partnerships like these can help us reach the most people and fulfill the widest array of needs. Because no two situations are the same.
Stop Soldier Suicide has made strategic relationships with many organizations that help us realize our mission of helping Soldiers and Veterans (and their families) get the help they need depending on the circumstances they are facing. Many times, there is a specific need stemming from a problem that can’t be solved by just seeking counseling help. Whether it be a physical or financial issue. So we’ve created a two-way street, so to speak, with numerous organizations that we feel best mirror our values and best offer the breadth of help the individuals and families who seek us out need. Our most influential partners include:
The Veterans Administration
Recently, Stop Soldier Suicide was contacted by, and now partners with, the VA.
Our partnership means we will be able to receive help from the VA for anyone who
contacts us in need and in addition, we have access to the VA’s deep network to help
spread the word about our organization so that those who might not ask for help
directly through the military gateways, might turn to us instead.
Give An Hour
Our partnership with Give An Hour provides those who contact us to have access to a
network of professional counselors nationwide, completely independent of the
military, who have agreed to donate their time to provide free mental healthcare and
substance abuse to our military men and women and their families. This offers “safer” option
emotionally to many who feel they can’t or don’t want to speak up to a military leader.
Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation
We offer the services of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation’s PFSP to
military men and women who suffer from paralysis. This support program provides a
Certified Mentor of similar age, gender, level of injury, ethnicity and location when possible.
Throughout the process both the client and the Reeve Mentor will have access to all of the
resources the Reeve Foundation’s Paralysis Resource Center has to offer. Families and
caregivers are also encouraged to participate in the program.
